President of Lithuania: the situation in Ukraine was discussed at the Baltic Summit in the US

The issue of Ukraine was discussed at the meeting between the US President and the leaders of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia within the framework of the United States-Baltic Summit.

"When we discussed security in the region as a whole, we raised the issue of the situation in Ukraine, we talked about Russia's actions, about Ukraine's security and support for Ukraine," the President of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė, said to the Voice of America.

Grybauskaitė stressed that Trump is aware of the extent of Russia’s threat. According to her, Trump "asked about the Ukrainian military, about whether Ukraine is able to protect itself."

At the same time, Grybauskaitė noted that "the main topic (of the summit) was the discussion of NATO's reform, security in the region."

"We resolutely declared our commitment to section 5 of the NATO Charter and all the necessary elements designed to make our region safer and more secure," Grybauskaitė stressed.

Grybauskaitė also noted the mutual understanding between the leaders of the Baltic States and the Mr. Trump.

The day before, it was reported that the US will allocate more than $ 170 million to the Baltic countries for military assistance and $ 3 million to combat misinformation.
