Lithuanian Foreign Minister: Lithuania welcomes the growing support for Ukraine by the United States
The Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Linas Linkevičius, during a meeting with the US Special Envoy on Ukraine, Kurt Volker, congratulated him on his appointment to this post and welcomed the growing attention and support that the US is giving to the region and Ukraine, as reported on the Lithuanian Foreign Affairs Ministry website.

According to the Lithuanian Minister, the international community should strengthen its efforts and encourage Russia to implement the commitments it made several years ago to withdraw weapons from Eastern Ukraine and stop supporting pro-Russian seperatists. "I often visit Ukraine, including the war-torn eastern Ukraine, that’s why, I constantly call on partners to act immediately to restore peace and security," underlined Linkevičius.
Volker said that Lithuania's role in the conflict resolution processes in Ukraine is well known and highly valued. "The US welcomes the Lithuanian principle position regarding peace in Ukraine. We are watching the situation in Ukraine and, like Lithuania, we are constantly and actively calling for the Minsk Agreements’ implementation," the US diplomat stressed.
