The Kremlin called the new possible U.S sanctions against Russia a threat to the global economy
The Press Secretary of the Russian Federation President, Dmitry Peskov, stated that the imposition of new anti-Russian sanctions by the United States would damage not only the U.S-Russian relations but also the global economy, Interfax reported.
According to him, such decisions will result in losses for the global economy, in particular, the energy market. However, Peskov stressed that the Russian energy sector will find ways to compensate for any possible damages.
“Over the past two years, the Russian energy sector has proved that it stands firm on its own feet; it is a very flexible and a very strong system with a sizable safety margin. Thus, there is no doubt that such a system will find the appropriate way to compensate for or to minimize any possible damages that the U.S sanctions could cause," Peskov said.
