Ukraine extended sanctions against Russia for another year

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine imposed additional sanctions against individuals and entities from Russia, as reported by the NSDC’s press center.

“In particular, sanctions have been imposed against individuals illegally elected to the State Duma of the Russian Federation based on the results of the so-called elections held by occupational authorities in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, members of the so-called electoral commissions, Ukrainian enterprises in the Crimea which were illegally re-registered under Russian laws. Sanctions have also been imposed against Russian law enforcement officials and courts involved in illegal detention of Ukrainian citizens in Russia,” the statement reads.

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine also imposed sanctions against former Ukrainian leaders declared wanted and are hiding abroad and involved in “financing of terrorist activities and Russia’s hybrid aggression against Ukraine.”

Sanctions have also been imposed against legal entities controlled by Russia “involved in waging hybrid war against Ukraine by Russia in the field of information and cyber space.” To ensure transparency and to synchronize actions, all sanctions imposed against individuals and legal entities have been extended for one year," the NSDC specified.
