Media: former NATO Secretary General promised Zelensky to help establish contacts with world leaders
Former Secretary General of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, promised the presidential candidate from the Servant of the People Party of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, if elected, to help establish contacts with foreign leaders, reported Ukrainian TV channel "1+1".
"It is important to establish contacts with the European Union as soon as possible, as well as informal contacts with Brussels, Berlin, Paris and Washington," said Rasmussen after the meeting between Zelensky and Yalta European Strategy (YES) leadership.
The ex-president of Poland, Aleksander Kwasniewski, who belongs to the same organization, asked the candidate whether his team had decided on appointments to the key positions, to which he received a positive response. Zelensky stated that he intends to present his team before the second round of elections. “Zelensky also expressed concern about the fact that he does not have a majority in the Verkhovna Rada. Therefore, if he wins the election, he doesn’t know how the deputies will vote for his election to the office,” reported TSN.
On April 6, President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, also held a meeting with the Yalta European Strategy board. According to Poroshenko’s press service, YES representatives invited the president to take part in the September conference.
