American MMA fighter Jeff Monson receives passport of self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic
The head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), Igor Plotnitsky, granted an LPR passport to the famous American MMA (mixed martial arts) fighter, Jeff Monson, who came to Luhansk for the opening of a children’s sports school, RIA Novosti reported. The presentation of the passport took place in the center of Luhansk during a concert dedicated to the 221st anniversary of the founding of Luhansk.
“A famous man came to us but he is well-known not due to his specific profession or choice; Monson is famous for his good deeds, kind and big heart, understanding and desire to help us with the Republic,” Plotnitsky noted. According to the head of the LPR, Monson addressed him personally with a request to issue a passport.
“It is an honor for me to be invited to the Day of the City. You have done so much over the past few years. You have shown great courage and solidarity with each other and it is a great honor for me to become your compatriot,” Monson addressed the local residents of LPR. Earlier, Monson received Russian citizenship.
