Erdogan: Turkish Army has entered Syria to put an end to Assad’s regime
The Turkish Army has entered Syria to end the rule of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. This was stated by the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as reported by Turkey's Hurriyet Daily News.
“According to my estimates about 1 million people have died in Syria. People continue to die without any exception: children, women and men. Where is the United Nations? What is it doing? Is it in Iraq? We preached patience but we could not tolerate it any longer and we had to enter Syria together with the Free Syrian Army,” Erdogan said while speaking at the first Inter-Parliamentary Jerusalem Platform Symposium in Istanbul.
According to him, Turkey intends to put an end to al-Assad’s regime and restore justice. “We entered the country to end the rule of the tyrant who is carrying out a government terror,” Erdogan said, adding that Turkish military would not have entered Syrian for any other reason.
Sine August, Turkey has been conducting Operation Euphrates Shield together with the Free Syrian Army.
