Kremlin: Putin will meet with Merkel and other leaders at G-20
According to the Russian President's assistant, Yuri Ushakov, Putin will meet the heads of States and European governments at the G20 summit in Antalya, Turkey. At the talks with the leaders of Germany, Great Britain and Italy, he is going to discuss bilateral and international issues including the situation in Syria and Ukraine. The metting of the Russian President with the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, is scheduled for November 13.
According to Ushakov, it is expected that the heads of the states will discuss the prospects of the bilateral cooperation. Putin intends to place special emphasis on strengthening of economic and trade relations. These plans weren’t confirmed by the German Government yet. On the second day of the Summit, November 16, Putin has meetings with the Prime Minister of Great Britain, David Cameron, and the Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi.
The Kremlin representative stated that the questions of further development of political dialogue on bilateral cooperation will be discussed at the Putin-Cameron meeting.
“The issues of the Ukrainian debt to the Russian Federation will be discussed at the meeting between Vladimir Putin and the Head of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, on November 15 ” – said Ushakov.
“The meeting between Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama at the G20 summit has not been officially scheduled” – stated assistant to the Russian President. However, he noted that the Presidents will have an opportunity to speak with each other during G-20 joint activities.
