Moscow demands that Washington provide information about potential terrorist attacks against Russia
The director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, stated that the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs requires that Washington immediately provide all information on planned terrorist acts against Russia and its citizens. According to her, silence will be considered withholding information.
“In case of the presence of any information about planned terrorist acts, possible attacks on Russian cities, possible provocations and terrorist acts against Russian citizens, which were previously referred to by Mr. Kirby, I request to immediately provide Moscow with all available information,” Zakharova said at the weekly briefing in Moscow, Interfax news agency reported.
Earlier, the spokesperson for the United States Department of State, John Kirby, stated that the possible termination of cooperation between Washington and Moscow on Syria could have a negative effect on Russia. According to him, terrorist acts will undoubtedly include attacks on Russian interests, probably even on Russian towns.
Commenting on Kirby’s statement, the presidential press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, reported that measures to prevent terrorist threats in Russia are regularly taken, and the statement from Washington that terrorists from Syria will come to Russia will change nothing in this work.
