Poroshenko discussed the Minsk agreements and Crimea with the new UN Secretary General

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held meetings and talks with the leaders of states and heads of international organizations in Davos, Switzerland. It was reported on the official website of the Ukrainian President on January 19.

Poroshenko met with the newly elected Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, and discussed with him the international organization’s support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of independent states, as well as the implementation of the Minsk agreements and the UN General Assembly resolution on human rights violations in the Crimea. In addition, Poroshenko informed Guterres that Kyiv had referred the claims against Russia to the International Court of Justice.

Poroshenko also discussed speeding-up the ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU by the Dutch parliament with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte.

It has been also noted that Ukraine is now conducting intense negotiations in the context of the Minsk process and the situation in the Crimea, inclusively establishing relations with the new U.S. administration.
