Security Service of Ukraine has started to investigate European politicians who traveled to the Crimea
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) will analyze information regarding politicians from Europe and other countries who travel to the Crimea and decide whether to impose sanctions against them, as stated by the Secretary of the NSDC (National Security and Defense Council) of Ukraine, Oleksandr Turchynov, according to his press service.
“The SBU will prepare and submit to the NSDC of Ukraine a list of officials from the European Parliament, as well as politicians from European Union countries, CIS, and Latin America, which, according to Russian media reports, arrived on a three-day visit to the annexed Crimea,” he said.
According to Turchinov, if this information is confirmed at the NSDC meeting, the question of imposing sanctions against them will be considered.
"In addition, information about the participation of Ukrainian citizens in this propaganda will be analyzed, and if their visits to the Crimea are confirmed, then criminal proceedings must be opened in accordance with the current legislation," Turchinov summed up.
Earlier, the Russian media reported that a delegation of around 20 people arrived in the Crimea, including members of the European Parliament, as well as politicians from other countries, including those of the European Union, Serbia, CIS, and Latin America.
