Security Service of Ukraine summons leader of so-called LPR for questioning
The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has called in the head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), Igor Plotnitsky, for questioning. According to the official notice, issued on Friday, March 11th, Plotnitsky must appear before investigators on March 17th for interrogation as he is believed to be a suspect in a number of crimes.
The document notes that Plotnitsky has been incriminated in several crimes, including illegal imprisonment or kidnapping, the illegal movement of people across borders and inciting the public to commit terrorist acts.
Meanwhile, so-called LPR authorities announced that Plotnitsky will not appear for the interrogation, reports Interfax. Separatists claim that the jurisdiction of the Special Services of Ukraine does not apply to them. "This is an unfriendly step by Kiev," said the agency’s spokesperson. The LPR representative for the Trilateral Contact Group on the settlement of the conflict in The Donbas, Vladislav Deynego, said that this action by Kiev violates the Minsk Agreements.
