The Foreign Ministry’s press service reported that the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Romania, Pavlo Klimkin and Lazăr Comănescu signed an agreement on the 6th of May on the waiver of fees for the registration of Romanian, long-term stay (national) visas for Ukrainians.

The Agreement was signed during the working meeting of the Ministers that will take place in the urban-type settlement Solotvyno. The Consulate of Romania will be opened before the meeting in Solotvyno.

The press service also noted that Klimkin and Comănescu discussed a wide range of issues concerning bilateral cooperation and particularly the means of implementing agreements achieved during then Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s visit to Romania on the 21st of April 2016.

Special emphasis was given to the issues of cross-border and regional cooperation, the development of infrastructure on the Ukrainian-Romanian state border, resolution of educational and cultural problems of Ukrainian national minorities in Romania and problems of Romanian national minorities in Ukraine.

Thanks to the agreement, Ukrainians and Romanians will be able to obtain entry permission free of charge and stay for more than 90 days, the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The agreement was first announced during President Poroshenko’s visit to Romania.
