Warsaw: Poland needs urgent changes to army control systems and the national security strategy

Polish armed forces need urgent changes to the command and control system as well as a new National Security strategy and improvements in personnel policy in the army, as stated by the heads of the Polish Defense Ministry and the National Security Bureau at a meeting with the President of the country, Andrzej Duda, the Polish Press Agency reports.

The joint statement was issued after the meeting between Duda and the Defense Minister, Mariusz Błaszczak, who was appointed on 9 January, says that “During the discussion of the functioning of the Polish armed forces… urgent changes were introduced to the command system.”

The National Security Bureau and the Polish Ministry of National Defense will work on the new National Security Strategy for the Republic of Poland, “in cooperation with the President and Government parties.”

The Defense Minister, Mariusz Błaszczak, the head of the National Security Bureau, Paweł Soloch, two State Secretaries, two Deputy State Secretaries from the Ministry of Defense, and Deputy Dariusz Gwizdała participated in the meeting with the President.
