Putin and Erdogan planning a new meeting in Moscow
The Presidents of Russia and Turkey will hold talks in Russia for the third time this year. Russia-Turkey Cross-Cultural Year will open in April under the chairmanship of Putin and Erdogan.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are planning to hold a meeting on April 8 in Moscow. The heads of the two states will hold a meeting of the High-Level Cooperation Council, Press Secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov said on Saturday, March 23.
The press service of the Russian president had earlier reported that a meeting of the High-Level Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council chaired by the two presidents would be held in April in Moscow. Putin and Erdogan also agreed to take part in the opening of the Russia-Turkey Cross-Cultural Year on April 8 at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow.
The latest meeting between Putin and Erdogan took place on February 14 in Sochi during the trilateral summit of the guarantor countries of the Astana Process, in which Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also participated. In January, Erdogan and Putin had discussed the Syrian situation in Syria.
Russia is among the main supporters of Syrian President Bashar Assad. At the same time, Turkey supports the Syrian opposition.
