Russia accuses Ukrainian military of opening fire at a bus carrying civilians in the Donbas
The Investigative Committee of Russia accused the Ukrainian military of opening fire on a bus near Olenivka in the Donbass on January 21.
The committee website stated, “The investigation has every reason to believe that this was a targeted shooting of the bus full of civilians, by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine using automatic firearms, carrying out orders of senior officials in violation of the protocol on the ceasefire in the southeast of Ukraine."
The Russian Investigative Committee has started two criminal cases against yet unidentified suspects under the article of the Russian Criminal Code on the use of prohibited means and methods of warfare.
Earlier, the Ukrainian military command reported that a bus came under artillery fire in the so-called "gray zone" in the Donbass near Olenivka on January 21. As a result, one civilian was killed and another was injured. The Ukrainian military denied the information spread by some Russian media that the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired on a bus in the gray zone. Representatives of international organizations were informed about the incident.
