Russia to give Serbia multimillion-euro loan
Russian Deputy Finance Minister Yuriy Zubarev and Serbian Finance Minister Siniša Mali signed an agreement on providing the export credit to Belgrade, reports TASS news agency. The document was signed during the visit of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to Serbia.
Earlier, the First Deputy Head of the Russian Government Office Sergei Prikhodko said that the total amount of the loan is €172.5 million. According to him, the agreement on the government loan will create conditions for Russia's participation in the modernization of the Serbian railway infrastructure.
Also, Russian Railways agreed with Serbia on the project of modernization of the Belgrade-Bar railway, reports RIA Novosti. Serbia’s national railway infrastructure asset management company, Serbian Railways infrastructure, and Russian Railways also signed an agreement on the second stage of an upgrade and construction of a double-track railway on Stara Pazova-Novi Sad sector.
On October 19, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Belgrade to take part in the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Serbian capital from the Nazis. Russian Prime Minister hosted a military parade together with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
