Ukraine and Poland agree to joint customs control

Ukraine and Poland have agreed to introduce joint customs control on the border, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced at a press briefing after meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda.

“We have agreed on an intergovernmental level that we will carry out joint customs control as an effective means of fighting corruption and smuggling,” Zerkalo Nedeli cites Poroshenko as saying.

Poroshenko commented that this step will make the visa-free regime between Ukraine and the EU even easier.

On December 13 President Petro Poroshenko held talks in Kharkiv with his Polish colleague Andrzej Duda.
