Zelensky to convene a closed meeting of Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council before the Normandy Four Summit
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky intends to hold a closed meeting of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) on December 7, reports the NSDC's Secretary Oleksiy Danilov.
"On Wednesday, Zelensky held a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian security and defense sector. After the meeting, it was decided to hold a closed meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on Saturday, December 7," reads the statement.
The Normandy Four meeting is scheduled for December 9 in Paris. The last time such negotiations took place was in October 2016. As Ukrainian President Zelensky said earlier, the leaders of the Normandy Four countries will discuss the exchange of prisoners, a ceasefire, control over the Ukrainian-Russian border, and elections in the Donbas.
Three parliamentary factions appealed to the Ukrainian President with a joint statement before the Normandy Four negotiations.
