    Foreign Minister, Pavlo Klimkin, announced that in the foreseeable future, Ukraine is preparing to terminate the agreement with Russia on the Sea of Azov.

  • 30 people suspected in Ukrainian money laundering through Austrian Meinl Bank

    The Austrian Prosecutor’s Office has identified 30 suspects in the case of Ukrainian money being laundered through Meinl Bank, Deutsche Welle reports. The investigation did not name the suspects, but it is known that the list includes Ukrainian citizens. 

    The case has to do with money disappearing from Ukrainian banks’ correspondent accounts in Austria. According to the Deposit Guarantee Fund, $385 million and €75 million were withdrawn illegally from the correspondent accounts at Meinl Bank.  …

  • Ukraine sells seized Gazprom assets

    On 29 January, Ukraine sold a 40.2% share in the company Gaztranzit which previously belonged to Gazprom but had been seized when it failed to pay a multi-billion hryvnia fine from Ukraine’s Anti-Monopoly Committee.

  • Poroshenko proposes bill to allow foreign troops into Ukraine for military drills

    Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has put forward a bill in parliament which proposes to allow foreign troops into the country for the purpose of conducting international exercises.
