    Ukraine supports Juan Guaidó, the head of the National Assembly of Venezuela who recently declared himself president of the country, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin wrote on Twitter.

  • Kyiv court finds Viktor Yanukovych guilty of high treason

    The Obolonskyi District Court of Kyiv has sentenced former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in absentia to 13 years in prison. Radio Liberty’s Russian service reported on 24 January that Yanukovych, who fled from Ukraine to Russia in 2014, was found guilty of high treason and complicity in aggressive war.

    The Ukrainian Minister of Defense Stepan Poltorak announced on Facebook that during an official visit to Israel a memorandum of cooperation between Ukraine and Israel was signed. This memorandum includes the development and modernization of weapons from Elbit Systems Ltd.

  • Ukraine prepared to extend gas transit agreement with Russia under European rules

    Andriy Kobolyev, CEO of Ukraine’s national oil and gas company Naftogaz, said in a press conference after trilateral negotiations in Brussels that the company is willing to extend the current agreements to transit Russian gas through Ukraine after 2019 if they comply with European regulations.
