    On 29 January, Ukraine sold a 40.2% share in the company Gaztranzit which previously belonged to Gazprom but had been seized when it failed to pay a multi-billion hryvnia fine from Ukraine’s Anti-Monopoly Committee.

  • Poroshenko proposes bill to allow foreign troops into Ukraine for military drills

    Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has put forward a bill in parliament which proposes to allow foreign troops into the country for the purpose of conducting international exercises. According to the Verkhovna Rada’s information portal, bill No. 10067 was sent on Tuesday 19 February to the National Security and Defense Committee for consideration.

  • US guided-missile destroyer is en route to Odessa, Ukraine

    On February 19, the U.S. guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) entered the Black Sea. On February 25, it is planned to arrive at the port of Odessa.

    Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a law that consolidates in the Constitution the mandate of the Verkhovna Rada, the president, and the Cabinet of Ministers to implement Ukraine’s strategic course towards acquiring full-fledged membership in the EU and NATO.   • Three explosions set off near DPR leader’s residence in Donetsk

    Three powerful explosions blasted in the center of Donetsk. Two of them took place not far from the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) leader’s residence building, reports RIA Novosti, citing the DPR authorities.
