  • Ukraine to receive 50 million euros from the European Commission to combat corruption

    The Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, told reporters that the European Commission intends to allocate 50 million euros to support Ukraine’s fight against corruption, Rosbalt reported.

    "In the next few days the Commission will adopt a program to support anti-corruption initiatives in Ukraine ... As far as I remember, the size is about 50 million [euros]," Hahn said at a press conference in Kiev.

  • One Ukrainian soldier killed and ten wounded in the Donbas

    Over the last 24 hours, one Ukrainian soldier was killed and ten were wounded as a result of the fighting in the Donbas, Interfax-Ukraine reported, citing the Speaker of the Ukrainian Presidential Administration on issues in the conflict area, Andrei Lysenko.

    According to him, the number of attacks by pro-Russian separatists has increased dramatically, as the Ukrainian side recorded a total of 94 attacks on Sunday, the highest since mid-April.

  • Ukraine and Canada sign free trade agreement

    Ukraine and Canada have signed a free trade agreement. The Canadian Minister of International Trade, Chrystia Freeland, and First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Stepan Kubiv, signed the agreement. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko noted that the work to expand this agreement will start immediately.   • UN: Number of civilian victims of the war in the Donbas is the highest since August 2015

    The number of civilian victims in the Donbas has reached its highest point since August 2015, as stated in the latest report by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs which was made public on Friday, 8 July. According to the UN, in June, clashes continued in the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine.  Just this month 12 people were killed and another 57 were injured in the Donbas.
