  • US troops block Russian military convoy from travelling on Syrian highway

    The U.S. military blocked the way of a Russian military convoy heading towards the town of Amuda in the Syrian province of Al Hasakah. A video of the incident, taken from a car, was published by the “Military Observer” Telegram channel. The footage shows that the Americans blocked the path of a Russian jeep and three armored personnel carriers with Russian flags.

  • US imposes sanctions on Swiss subsidiary of Russian oil giant Rosneft

    The US has imposed sanctions on Rosneft Trading, a Swiss subsidiary of the Russian oil company Rosneft, for trading oil with Venezuela, the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) announced on Tuesday.

    As of Tuesday, February 18, Rosneft Trading S.A. will be blacklisted by OFAC, and its assets will be frozen. Furthermore, US citizens and legal entities will be banned from concluding any deals with the company itself or any organization of which it owns more than 50%.

  • US sends convoy of military vehicles from Iraq to Syria

    A US convoy of military vehicles has departed from Iraq towards Syria, Sky News Arabia reports, citing sources in the Iraqi security service.

    According to the source, the convoy consists of more than 50 military vehicles, and has already crossed the border from Iraq to Syria.

    Russia has called on the US to immediately restore the normal issuance of visas to its officials, including diplomats and UN personnel, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on its website.
