• Ukrainian Intelligence: Russian representatives arrive in Donetsk to determine source of information leak

    The Southern Military Command of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation arrived in the separatist-occupied region of Donetsk.  This was reported on the 6th of March by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine.

    According to the Ministry’s statement, representatives of the Russian military visited the area to find out why Russian leadership has failed to conceal the fact that the country is directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict.

    Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko urged the leaders US and EU to increase pressure on Russia in order to secure the release of imprisoned Ukrainian pilot, Nadiya Savchenko.

    "Ukraine has sent a letter to the EU and the US to increase pressure on Russia to release Nadiya Savchenko," Poroshenko wrote on his Twitter page on Monday.

  • State Emergency Service of Ukraine counts more than 1 million internally displaced persons in the country

    As of March 6, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) has counted over 1 million internally displaced persons in Ukraine, including the conflict zone in eastern Ukraine and Crimea, according to the message of the state agency.

    The founder of Russia’s Ren-TV company, Irena Lesnevskaya, has written an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin asking for the release of Ukrainian citizen, Nadia Savchenko.  Savchenko was charged in Russia with the murders of two Russian journalists.

  • World Bank to give Ukraine $200 million for the construction of new roads

    The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, stated during a meeting with the Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration that the World Bank plans to allocate $200 million for the construction of roads in Ukraine, the Government Portal reports.

    Yatsenyuk noted that capital spending will not be in the project estimates in 2016 but will be directed solely to projects to be commissioned in the current year. The part of capital expenditure would be directed to the repair of roads. …
