Czech biathlete: There is no anti-doping agency in Russia that would comply with the WADA Code
Czech biathlete Michal Krčmář doubted that his doping tests would be safe during the World Cup in Russia. According to him, the decision of the Czech national team to boycott the competitions in Tyumen is the right one, Sport iDNES cited the athlete.
"I'm afraid to go to Russia, because there is no anti-doping agency there that complies with the WADA Code. I'm not sure that my doping tests will be safe. Nobody knows what they can do with them. If the Russians can write letters threatening us, then the doping tests can also be switched. Just like they switched their dirty samples for clean ones, they will switch our clean ones for dirty ones," the biathlete explained and added that he fully supports the decision of the national team not to go to Tyumen.
Earlier, the US men's biathlon team announced the boycott of the World Cup in Tyumen.
The World Cup in Tyumen will be held from 22 to 25 March 2018.
