DPR authorities: budget information cannot be disclosed due the state of war with Ukraine

The Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) says that it will not disclose budget information because it is in the state of war, as stated by Alexander Kazakov, advisor to the head of the DPR, on the Union television station.

“There is martial a state of war here. The decree has not been repealed. If the republic reveals economic information, then clever and competent specialists on our enemy’s side will calculate our military budget. We cannot allow this. They will then know what kind of funding goes to our defense,” he said.

In May 2015, the first budget for the DPR was approved, and was instituted for a month at a time until December.

In 2016, the leadership of the DPR classified this information and plans it only three months in advance. The reasons for this, it was explained, were the military operation and the instability of revenue.

In April, the DPR announced that it had put together a budget for the second quarter of 2017.

However, no specific figures were made public. It was simply stated that “the main expenses will go to social security and the work of budget organizations.”
