Head of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine: PrivatBank is under special monitoring due to large losses to the state
The case of PrivatBank is under the special control of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), since there is a great danger of causing large losses to the state, stated the head of the NABU, Artem Sytnyk, in an interview with Radio Liberty.
"The business of PrivatBank has been taken under special control. This is because there is great danger of the infliction of large losses to the state, since the bank's shareholders have not yet fulfilled their obligations - they did not pay off the loan portfolio, which was in fact 'dead', fictitious", said Sytnyk.
He specified that Igor Kolomoisky and Gennadiy Bogolyubov took upon themselves written obligations to fulfill their financial obligations before July 1, but did not do so.
According to Sytnyk, in September "there will be a decisive stage of this case ... when the side of the defense will file suit against NABU. That, in this case, I think, will be the greatest confrontation."
As previously reported, the Prosecutor General's Office suspects PrivatBank officials of illegally transforming a loan portfolio on the eve of nationalization and issuing 133 billion hryvnia ($5.22 billion USD) in loans to companies associated with the bank's management.
