Israeli company publishes satellite images of Russian Iskander missiles in Syria
The Israeli company ImageSat International (ISI), specializing in satellite photography, took a photo of the Iskander-M complex at the Russian Khmeimim airbase in Syria. The company posted the photos to its Twitter page.
The photos date April 17. The company claims that they capture the conveyor and loader, as well as the Iskander launcher.

The fact that Russia uses Iskander-M missile systems in Syria has been known since last year. After his trip to Syria, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov spoke about the weapons which Russia was “rolling in” in its fight against terrorism. Among everything else, Borisov mentioned Iskander-M.
“Iskander” (SS-26 Stone following NATO classification) was developed by research and production corporation “Engineering Design Bureau”. Iskander-M has two quasi-ballistic missiles and a range of up to 500 km. The Iskander-M quasi-ballistic missile uses stealth technology, false targets for bypassing anti-missile defense systems and a dischargeable electronic warfare module.
