Kim Jong-un arrives in Russia on armored train

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un arrived in Russia at the border station of Khasan Khasansky district of Primorsky Krai, Interfax  reported.

“Kim Jong-un arrived to Khasan and got off the train,” the agency’s source said.

A video capturing the arrival shows young Russian women in folk costumes greeting the North Korean leader with a traditional loaf of bread, korovai. Kim Jong-un is wearing a long black cape with a black hat on his head. He is accompanied by the North Korean delegation, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Alexander Kozlov and Governor of Primorsky Krai Oleg Kozhemyako.

Kim Jong-un did not try the korovai offered him by the young women.

The house of Russian-Korean friendship, also called “the House of Kim Il Sung”, is located at Khasan station. This house was built at the Khasan border station before the former North Korean leader’s visit to the USSR in 1986. North Korean leaders Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il visited the house while travelling to Russia back in the day.

Kim Jong-un’s armored train will proceed to Vladivostok where, on April 25, the DPRK leader will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

This will be Kim Jong-un’s first visit to the Russian Federation. He has never been to Russia before.
