A Russian national guard unit was attacked in Chechnya

Russia’s TASS news agency reported, citing the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAK) of Russia’s FSB, that a National Guard unit stationed in the Naursky District of the Chechen Republic was attacked by militants.

According to FSB, six National Guard soldiers were killed. "There are also wounded soldiers," FSB representatives reported.

The NAK indicated that on Friday morning at approximately 2:30 am, a group of six militants attacked a National Guard unit in a rural area of Naurskaya in the north of the Chechen Republic.

FSB claims that the militants used firearms and had fake suicide belts. According to official reports, all the attackers were killed. The press service of the National Guard reported that the militants took advantage of a strong fog, attempting to enter the territory of the military facility, but they were discovered by soldiers on sentry duty.

Earlier, the TASS source claimed that overall eight militants participated in the attack. Six of them were killed, and two managed to escape. The government bodies of the Naursky District were put on a heightened readiness status.
