Serbia will receive six MiG jet fighters, 30 tanks and 40 armored vehicles from Russia free, as reported by the Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić after meeting with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu, the Serbian Tanjug agency reports.
According to Vučić, aircraft modernization will cost Serbia 180 to 230 million euro. "If we purchased such aircraft with the missiles we want, it would cost us around 600 million euro,” Vučić said.
The Serbian Prime Minister said equipment from the Russian Federation would significantly enhance the capabilities of the Serbian army. "Thirty Т-72 tanks, thirty BRDM-2 armored reconnaissance vehicles and a number of 14.5 mm small arms were given to us as a gift.”
An agreement on the supply of aircraft will be signed on Friday. The planes will be delivered in March or in autumn if they are modernization in Russia.
