Herashchenko called on the State Border Service of Ukraine to monitor the entries of the Russian artists who perform in the Crimea

On November 4th, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Iryna Herashchenko, said that the State Border Service of Ukraine had given her the runaround regarding her request to verify the possible entries of Russian artists who illegally performed in the Crimea into Ukraine. In addition, according to Herashchenko, persons who were acting as observers in the so-called "primaries" in the occupied territories of the Donbas are also being allowed to enter Ukraine.

"I received a strange reply from the border service that we had not specified the dates of birth or Latin transcriptions of the "musicians’" and "observers’" names and therefore the State Border Service can not check whether any administrative or criminal case has been instituted against them. Of course, such a reply angered me; Ukraine is not a thoroughfare," Herashchenko wrote on Facebook.

The MP demanded the establishment of an inter-ministerial group to monitor "the problem of illegal visits to the Crimea and the Donbas."

On November 4th, the State Border Service of Ukraine reiterated the criminal and administrative penalties for the entering the annexed Crimea and encouraged taking it into consideration when inviting foreign citizens and persons without citizenship.
