How France became the principal enemy of ISIS

On November 13 a series of terrorist acts hit Paris. Several explosions happened near the Stade de France stadium during the match between France and Germany. The President of France, François Hollande was there, he was not hurt. Other attacks took place in one of the restaurants in the 10th arrondissement of Paris and the Bataclan concert hall in the 11th arrondissement.
129 people were killed during these horrific attacks.

September 15 - The Iinternational Conference on Peace and Security in Iraq was held in the building of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Representatives of 26 countries, UN, the League of Arab States and EU took part in a conference.
The main purpose of the conference was countermeasures against ISIS.
A day before the conference, the first French reconnaissance jets took off the airbase in Abu-Dhabi to set the ground for future bombardments of ISIS.
François Hollande spoke about the mistake made a year ago when the proposal of France to carry out airstrikes on Syria was rejected.

September 22 - The Islamic State threatened to attack USA, France and other coalition countries. The statement was made by an official representative of ISIS, Abu Mohammed Al-Adnani.The French Minister of the Interior, Bernard Kaznev, rushed to calm the French public saying that the authorities have everything to avert any threats. “Over the past few months, our forces were mobilized to prevent any risk posed by the terrorist groups acting in Syria and Iraq” – he said.

September 27 - the Elysée Palace reported that France carried out airstrikes in Syria. The targets were chosen after two weeks of the reconnaissance flights over the Syrian territory. The first attack was near the city Dayr al-Zawr in the north-east of Syria. President Holland stated that there would be new attacks if necessary.

October 9 - A new series of French airstrikes hit a militants’ training camp in Syria. Two Rafale fighter aircrafts carried out the operation. According to the French Minister of Defence, the operation was successful.

November 10 - France carried out airstrikes on two ISIS oil facilities in Syria. The French jets bombed ISIS positions near the town of Dayr al-Zawr in the East of Syria hitting an oil distribution hub and an oil and gas separator facility.

November 13 - 129 people became the victims of the terrorist acts in Paris. Several hundred were wounded.
