Plants indirectly owned by Ukrainian President receive contracts worth $2.5 from state companies
The Leninska Kuznia plant, which is indirectly owned by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, received two contracts for the repair of ships totaling 64.02 million hryvnia ($2.5 million), Nashi Groshi reported with reference to the Prozorro system (an online system tracking Ukrainian Government expenditures, purchases and tenders).
It was reported that the State Enterprise Maritime Search and Rescue Service ordered an overhaul of marine hardware and hull structures of the rescue ship Sapphire for 29.09 million hryvnia ($1.1 million).
In addition, a branch of the Public Joint Stock Company Ukrainian Railways ordered repairs for the Heroes of Shipka ferry for 34.93 million hryvnia ($1.37 million).
83% of the shares in the Leninska Kuznia plant belong to Prime Assets Capital, Poroshenko's closed non-diversified corporate investment fund.
Poroshenko has transferred his business assets to this investment fund for formal compliance with the law on the separation of business and civil service.
11.5% of the shares are owned by closed non-diversified corporate investment fund VIK of People's Deputy Ihor Kononenko, the deputy head of the faction Petro Poroshenko Bloc.
