Poroshenko is preparing to block certain websites in Ukraine
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the Cabinet to develop a bill that would allow the blocking of websites in accordance with the decision of the court.
This was stated in the text of the president's decree Number 32 dated February 13 on enactment of the National Security and Defense Council's (NSDC) decision "On the threats to cyber security of the state and urgent measures to neutralize them" from December 29, 2016.
The President also instructed the Cabinet to approve the protocol for the joint action of entities providing cyber security for objects of critical information infrastructure at a time when cyber-attacks and cyber incidents are revealed, prevented and stopped, as well as when their consequences are being resolved.
In addition, the Government, together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) was asked to prepare proposals for the restriction of the use of software and telecommunication equipment produced in Russia at the critical infrastructure facilities.
The NSDC decision also contains particulars for two classified items, unavailable for public review.
The draft resolution on the blocking of websites in accordance with the court's decision should be considered by the Parliament within three months.
