Russian MoD: Belgian jets bombed Aleppo

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that the village of Hassajek in the Syrian province of Aleppo was attacked by fighter jets from the Belgian Air Force.

"According to information obtained from the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties from the local Council of the city of Afrin, on the 18th of October, 2016 at about 3 a.m., an airstrike was conducted on the village of Hassajek in the Aleppo province. The bombing destroyed two houses, killing six people and wounding another four," the Bulletin published by the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria reads.

The Russian Defense Ministry claims that there were no Russian aircraft or Syrian Arab Air Force in this area. "Near the village of Hassajek, on the night of the 18th of October, 2016, aircraft from the international coalition performed these tasks. Two F-16 Belgian Air Force jets were recorded by air control at that time in this district," the Russian Defense Ministry informed.

Earlier, the Minister of Defense of Russia, Sergey Shoygu, said that as of 10:00 on the 18th of October, 2016, the Russian and Syrian Air Forces had ceased strikes in the Syrian district of Aleppo.
