Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office: Yanukovych’s testimonies gave us lots of new information

The Head of the Department of Special Investigations of the Prosecutor General’s Office, Sergey Gorbatyuk, stated in an interview with Sonya Koshkina on Left Coast that the General Prosecutor’s Office received a considerable amount of work during the testimonies of the former President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych.

According to him, these testimonies can be used not only in the case against Berkut officers, in which Yanukovych was a witness, but also in the proceeding in which the former President of Ukraine is a suspect.

“We will apply to the Rostov Court for receipt of copies of testimonies in order to hand them over to investigation and conduct a detailed check… Of course, detailed testimonies are more important. It is easier to check them for conformity to the true circumstances of the case. In addition, that amount of information can be subject to psychological examination to detect any emotions or signs of lies. That is to say, we have received a considerable amount of work. We have had nothing before,” Gorbatyuk said.
