The Prime Minister of Ukraine believes that Ukrainians instead of foreigners should reform Ukraine
Volodymyr Groysman, the Prime Minister of Ukraine believes that the country has begun to abuse the involvement of foreigners in power.
“I think that after a certain period of time we started to abuse this. I believe that Ukrainians should build Ukraine. We can, with reasonable certainty invite particular, famous professionals. But generally speaking, we must build our house on our own and this is very important. Yes, we will make some mistakes, so we can do something differently than other countries did, but I am deeply convinced that all that we do must come from the heart, then we will appreciate it,” he said while on air with Channel 12.
In his opinion, each country has its own unique experience and Ukraine must have its own.
There were no foreigners in Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s first Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine but in the second Cabinet, the Minister of Economy, Aivaras Abromavičius was a Lithuanian, the Minister of Health, was Olexander Kvitashvili from Georgia and the Minister of Finance is the American of Ukrainian origin, Natalia Yaresko.
At that time, high positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs were received by Georgians Eka Zguladze and Khatia Dekanoidze. The deputy prosecutor general was at one time Georgian David Sakvarelidze, and the post of the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration was occupied by Georgian Mikheil Saakashvili.
Very few of the foreigners remained in power.
