The Russian Federation says they will return to PACE only when all their rights are restored
The delegation of the Russian Federation will only return to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) if their rights are restored, including their right to vote. According to TASS, this was said by the chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin.
“Our delegation can of course return but only if our rights are not violated and if we have a right to our own position. We also want the right to express our point of view and, of course, the right to vote,” Volodin said.
According to him, the PACE deputies, who are representatives of European Parliaments, who made “discriminatory decisions regarding Russia should change their approaches”.
“After that, we will talk about the beginning of working together and participating,” Volodin confirmed.
The President of PACE, Pedro Agramunt, had previously expressed hope, through a letter to Volodin, of Russia’s return to the Assembly.
