Turchynov instructed the Ukrainian military to prepare for a counter-offensive
The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (RNBO), Oleksandr Turchynov, visited the front line in Avdiivka, and instructed the military to prepare for an attack from the separatists, as well as to be prepare for a counterattack, the press service of the RNBO reported.
"The military was tasked with refining the operational plans for the times of the offensive of the Russian hybrid troops while taking into account the preparation for effective counteroffensive steps," the statement says.
Turchynov said that the situation remains dangerous in Adviivka and it’s industrial zone.
"Even today, from five to nine in the morning, Russian hybrid troops carried out four attacks on our position. In the intervals between assaults, they carried out powerful attacks using the MLRS Grad. The city of Avdiivka sustained the damage — 20 civilian buildings were destroyed," the Secretary of the RNBO said.
Also, he stressed that in most cases the shelling is conducted "cunningly from the inside of the residential quarters of the occupied cities."
The day before, Turchynov named the Ukrainian soldiers who had been killed near Avdiivka, adding that the separatists' losses were much higher.
