Ukraine and Canada signed a Defense Cooperation Arrangement
Canadian Minister of National Defence Harjit Singh Sajjan and Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak signed a Defense Cooperation Arrangement, according to the Canadian Armed Forces’ latest Facebook update.
"Signing this document will allow us to expand our cooperation, making it more constructive and useful for both Ukraine and Canada," Poltorak said before the signing of the agreement.
In turn, the Canadian Defense Minister noted that he was honored to add his signature to the new Defense Cooperation Arrangement between the defense ministries of both countries.
"The arrangement will enable us to collaborate closely on issues of mutual security and defense concerns, and better support each other," he stressed.
Sajjan also recalled the renewal of the training period until 2019 for the representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the framework of Operation UNIFIER.
This is the second productive agreement between both countries this week. The day before, President Petro Poroshenko signed a law ratifying free trade agreement between Ukraine and Canada.
Recently, a petition was received by the Parliament of Canada to give weapons to Ukraine.
