Ukraine sees strong justification for extending sanctions against Russia
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko believes that Kyiv currently has "every reason" to extend sanctions against Moscow, since it does not fulfill its obligations under the Minsk agreements.
According to him, Ukraine behaves responsibly with regard to safety issues and demonstrates the fulfillment of its obligations "in contrast to Russia." He also stressed that Kyiv is always ready for negotiations in the Normandy format.
"Back at the beginning of August, I already clearly stated that we are ready to take part in the summit of G20 in Guangzhou and to hold a meeting in the Normandy format there. You all can recall that Russia refused this and said that this is probably the end of the Normandy format, that they will no longer take part in this,'' the Ukrainian leader stated.
Poroshenko also said that "the fact of Russia's aggression against Ukraine" was registered in several official documents, particularly in the PACE resolution.
