Ukrainian President: Sea Breeze military exercise is a response to the organizers and sponsors of hybrid wars
President Petro Poroshenko stated that the Ukrainian-American military drills Sea Breeze 2017 is a response to ideologists, organizers, and sponsors of hybrid wars as he announced during his working visit to Odessa, where he became acquainted with the training in action, his press service reported.
The head of state stressed that from year to year these exercises, which are conducted under circumstances as close to combat as possible; enhance mutual compatibility, training, and coherence of multinational units.
"Each time these exercises improve the work of the multinational tactical group headquarters in moving military standards closer to NATO standards. But this year the participation of the Ukrainians in the planning process has been significantly increased. This joint training is our response to ideologists, organizers, and sponsors of hybrid wars," Petro Poroshenko said.
The President emphasized that the joint training demonstrates unity and readiness to protect the world and the values shared by the transatlantic community - democracy and freedom, the supremacy of the law and human rights, territorial integrity, and the inviolability of borders.
"Under current circumstances, the assistance of our foreign partners in the military and military-technical spheres is extremely important. I would like to thank you, dear friends, for the regular assistance in training Ukrainian soldiers, for sharing sincerely and comprehensively your combat experience that you have acquired in different parts of the world," the President said.
The head of state has expressed his confidence that the current training will be another powerful step in achieving stability in the region.
