Yanukovych's lawyer asks for high-quality video connection during his client's video conference questioning
Vitaliy Serdyuk, legal counsel to former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, asks the State Judicial Administration of Ukraine ensure a high-quality video connection between the Svyatoshyn District Court and the Rostov Regional Court during his client’s questioning via video conference, Ukrayinska Pravda reported.
Serdyuk noted that representatives of the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office “express doubts in the possibility of conducting questioning by means of video conference.” According to him, a successful test video connection has been carried out between the courts in Kyiv and Rostov. “It is therefore unclear what could give the Prosecutor’s Office grounds to believe that technical difficulties can occur. The only possible explanation is the existence of a large number of officials who are not interested in getting testimony from Viktor Yanukovych in the Berkut case,” he stated.
“It is these people who, perhaps, are preparing to disrupt the videoconference. We urge the State Judicial Administration to ensure a reliable, quality video connection between the Svyatoshyn Court in Kyiv and Rostov Regional Court,” Serdyuk added.
The Svyatoshyn District Court in Kyiv decided to examine the former President of Ukraine and ex-internal troops Commander Stanislav Shulyak via video conference on November 25 at 1:00 p.m.
