Poroshenko: Canadian business is ready to come to Ukraine
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has invited the representatives of Canadian business to Ukraine. A meeting was held in the course of Poroshenko’s working visit to Canada, as the President’s press service reports.
"Earlier, Canadian Ukrainians invested in Ukraine to support the economy. At present, all Canadian business is ready to come [to Ukraine]. And I would like to say that it is the right time and place for investments,” the President emphasized, having added that Ukraine has high potential.
Poroshenko noted that a few days ago, Ukraine completed the placement of Ukrainian sovereign bonds for three billion dollars. "It is a good signal of investor confidence in Ukraine and ongoing reforms,” he added.
The President spoke about the changes in Ukraine, particularly anti-corruption steps, the introduction of electronic declaration and recent reforms implemented by Ukrainian authorities. According to him, international financial organizations noted that Ukraine has done more in the last three years than over the previous 20 years.
"A number of Canadian companies working in the field of energy, agriculture, defensive and financial sector, and aircraft construction have shown considerable interest in the Ukrainian market, especially in the context of the introduction of free trade with Ukraine,” the press service informed.
