Prosecutor: Saakashvili can be eliminated by Russian special services

The Russian special services may kill the former President of Georgia and leader of the Movement of New Forces party, Mikheil Saakashvili, with the aim of destabilizing the situation in Ukraine, as expressed by the prosecutor, Olexandr Hovorushchak, during a meeting of the Pechersk District Court, TSN reports.

The prosecutor, talking about the danger from the Russian special services, discussed the need to choose preventive measures in the form of round-the-clock home arrest for Saakashvili.

"One of the options for destabilizing the situation in Ukraine for the FSB can be the elimination of Saakashvili," Hovorushchak said, referring to the law enforcers’ data.

The prosecution believes that no other preventive measure can provide protection for the suspect or the possibility of carrying out procedural measures against him. The prosecutor also noted that Saakashvili showed his unwillingness to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and broke away from them.

The Pechersk district court chose a protective measure for Mikheil Saakashvili. The leader of the Movement of the New Forces was detained on December 8th in the apartment of the former head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Luhansk region, Yuriy Pokinboroda.
