Russia bans investigative documentary of opposition leader Navalny about oligarch Deripaska
The documentary of Alexei Navalny's Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) about the ties of businessman Oleg Deripaska and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Prikhodko was "blacklisted" by Roskomnadzor, Russia's Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media.
"The court has placed in the register of prohibited information not only the news about the investigation but also Navalny's writings about the investigation and our video," FBK's employee Georgy Alburov stated on Twitter.
The YouTube footage and the news about it on Navalny's website were banned "on the basis of the decision of the Ust-Labinsk district court of the Krasnodar Krai of February 9."
On February 8, Navalny published an investigation that showed Prikhodko vacationing on Deripaska's yacht Elden. The Instagram photos and videos of a woman named Nastya Rybka were cited as evidence. According to Navbalny, Deripaska discussed political and business issues with the Deputy Prime Minister. Deripaska claims that Navalny's allegations were false and he intends to sue him.
