Russian political scientist detained at Berlin airport, refused entry into EU
Russian political scientist Oleg Bondarenko has been refused entry into the EU. He was detained at the airport in Berlin, and claimed that he had been prevented from entering the territory of the European Union at the request of Poland, TASS reports.
"At the request of Poland, I have been forbidden to enter the territory of the EU, without explanation. The ban lasts 3 years," he said.
According to Bondarenko, he flew to Berlin at the invitation of the German Left Party to participate in a political event. Bondarenko said that he was being prepared for deportation, and stated that he did not know what the Polish request may be related to.
It is known from public sources that Bondarenko has taken an active role in organized activities in the separatist-held Luhansk and Donetsk territories. Particularly, he is often an invited "expert” on television programs on propaganda channels, and has stated that "the restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty in the Donbas is out of the question." His speeches and statements have been published on social networks by the so-called "Luhansk Militia".
