Saakashvili claims to have found a job in Europe
Mikheil Saakashvili, the former president of Georgia, leader of the Ukrainian party "Movement of New Forces" said that he found a job in the Netherlands where he now lives. He said on Facebook that he “agreed with the Speakers Academy of the Netherlands on cooperation."
"While I'm in Europe, I'll make a living by giving lectures. In the Academy, there is a very cool team. They impressed me with a good knowledge of the specifics of our region and the right values. I hope that I will not have to [conduct] lectures for a long time, and I will use the experience not [only] for lectures but for eliminating oligarchs from power and for real reforms," he said.
Saakashvili was deported from Ukraine to Poland in accordance with the procedure of readmission. He broke from Poland through the Ukrainian state border into Ukrainian territory in 2017. He periodically declares his determination to return or to "break through" to Ukraine, despite having an entry ban to Ukraine for three3 years. He continues to speak of his intention to overthrow the Ukrainian government.
Saakashvili has also spoken about his desire to overthrow the current government of Georgia, where several criminal cases are being brought against him or have already been brought to trial with the sentencing verdict in absentia. He has lost citizenship in Georgia and in Ukraine. Being a stateless person, he can no longer directly participate in the political life of both states.
The Speakers Academy in Rotterdam is a commercial organization that, upon request, organizes lectures by professional "speakers" who can be anyone who is ready to give lectures on any topic, from politics, economics or digital technologies to futurism and magic. It maintains a database of over a thousand such lecturers.
In his message on Facebook, Saakashvili attached an image of the page with the information bulletin of this organization, where it is said that he is now its new lecturer. According to this report, Saakashvili is ready to give lectures on various topics: political, legal, social or anti-corruption. It also mentions the successes of Georgia during his presidency.
